First of all, a strong heating of the processor can be caused by the fact that no thermal paste has been applied to it for a long time. As a rule, thermal paste should be applied every year (it is not critical, however, every two years). If you do not impose a very long period of time, then this can cause severe overheating, overly active operation of the cooler. As a result, it will cause serious problems in the performance of the computer as a whole. Reflection on the operating system: braking, malfunctioning, sudden reboots, etc. It is not so easy to change thermal paste, if there is no such experience, it is advisable to contact a specialist.
Step 2
Heating of the processor can be caused not only by the fact that the thermal paste has not been applied for a long time, but also by the weak operation of the cooler. Some models of coolers, in particular, which are included in budget / office sets of computers, are not optimal enough cooling systems. They often become clogged (with dust), deteriorate over time, and may even break during operation. Their sharp speed over time is quite natural. They simply wear out and cannot work normally. In order to maintain such a cooling system, considerable care is needed: cleaning from dust, lubricating, controlling the speed using the Everest program. But in order to avoid such problems, it is better to replace such a cooler with a more efficient one (for example, from Zalman).

Also subject to heating: hard drive, video card. Some models of video cards also require thermal paste, although much less often than processors (once every 3-4 years). But when overloaded (for example, during a game that requires sufficiently powerful resources), they are significantly exposed to heating, therefore, of course, it is advisable to install additional cooling for them. An additional cooler on the back of the computer would do.
