This usually does not lead to serious problems in the system's performance, but at times it can cause some programs and services to malfunction. It is recommended to carry out such "cleaning" of the system at least once a month. But with passive use of the computer, you can reduce the frequency to 2-3 months.

Step 1
Clean the system partition of the hard disk using standard Windows tools. To do this, open the properties of this section and click the "disk cleanup" button.

Clean up the registry. It is highly discouraged to carry out this process on your own. Deleting or fixing important files may cause the system to malfunction. It is best to create a restore checkpoint before starting to clean the registry. To do this, open the computer properties, go to the "system protection" tab, select the system drive and click "create".

It is best to use special programs to clean the registry. The leaders in this area are the RegCleaner and CCleaner utilities. Run one of these programs and click "check". After scanning, you will be prompted to delete unneeded files.
Step 4
Tune the overall performance of the system. It is better to use the Advanced System Care program for this, but you can choose any other. Run the program and open the Windows Cleanup menu. Be sure to check the boxes next to Registry Errors and Unnecessary Files. Click "scan" and after completing this process - "repair".
