Step 1
Among the many programs of this plan, the Disk Director Suite from Acronis stands out. You can download the utility at the following link https://www.acronis.ru/homecomputing/products/diskdirector. On the loaded page, click the "Trial" button. Save the installation file to any partition on your hard drive.
Step 2
Downloading the current file may take from a few seconds to several minutes (depending on your connection speed). The size of the exe file is just over 110 MB. Start the installation of the program following all the prompts of the installation wizard. Upon completion of the installation process, a shortcut should appear on the desktop.
Step 3
Run the program by clicking on the shortcut on the desktop or from the "Start" menu (section "Programs"). The main window of the utility will display all disks and partitions that are installed in your system unit. It is necessary to switch to the manual mode of partitioning disks, for this click the top menu "View" and select the line "Manual mode".
Step 4
Now select the drive and partition that you want to make active, i.e. bootable. Right-click on it, select the "Advanced" section from the context menu, then the line "Make active".
Step 5
In the appeared window "Setting the active partition", you must press the "OK" button or press Enter to confirm the actions performed. After a while, the selected partition of the hard drive will be converted to bootable. Pay attention to the signature for this section, a new entry will appear.
Step 6
In the same way, it is possible not only to set the boot partition, but also to cancel it (return to default). To complete the started operation, you must restart the computer. Click the Start menu, click the arrow next to the Shutdown button and select Restart.
