A folder in relation to a computer is most often called one of the elements of the graphical interface of modern operating systems. Its purpose is to provide quick access to a catalog of objects of a certain level in the hierarchy of all catalogs of a disk. The system application, which is responsible for operations with files on computer media, allows you to perform various manipulations with directories - move them, duplicate, destroy, nest in each other, etc.
Instructions
Step 1
If you want to nest one folder into another, the easiest way to do this is by dragging and dropping. Open the file manager for your operating system. In Windows OS, this is "Explorer", which can be launched, for example, by right-clicking on the "Start" button and selecting the "Open Explorer" command from the context menu. In the window of this application, navigate the directory tree to the folder containing the directory to be moved. It doesn't matter where the "target" folder is displayed - it can be in the left frame (in the directory tree), in the right frame (next to the floating one), on the desktop, or in another Explorer window. In any case, your actions should be the same: with the left mouse button, drag the icon of one folder to the icon of another.
Step 2
Dragging can be replaced with a bunch of cut and paste operations - the result will be exactly the same as in the previous step. In this case, in the "Explorer" select the folder to be moved and press the key combination Ctrl + X. Then go to the destination folder and press the keys Ctrl + V - only after this action the file manager will start moving objects.
Step 3
Sometimes you need to attach a folder to an email message. You should not do this with a folder, it is better to pack it together with all its contents into an "archive" - one file that will contain all the objects of the forwarded directory in compressed form. To create an archive, right-click the folder and in the pop-up context menu select the line that starts with the words "Add to archive" and ends with the folder name and extension. The extension, like the format of the file being created, depends on the application used on your computer as an archiver. If there is no such item in the menu, then this application has not been installed yet - select one of them and install. This can be done via the Internet. Look for WinRar, WinZip, or 7-zip, for example.
