Microsoft Office Word is a text editor, however, work in it is not limited to just entering text. You can also work with graphics and charts in the application. If you need to build a graph, it is not at all necessary to launch another program, it can be done in the Word program.
Instructions
Step 1
To build a graph in the Word editor, you need to have at least minimal knowledge of how graphs and charts are built in another program included in the Office package - Microsoft Office Excel.
Step 2
Start Word and create a new document (or open an existing file), place the cursor in the place where your graph will be located. Go to the "Insert" tab and click in the "Illustrations" section on the "Diagram" button.
Step 3
A new "Insert Chart" window will open. In the left part of the window, from the templates provided, select the "Graph" item and select it by clicking the left mouse button. In the right part of the window, from the available thumbnails, select the type of chart that you need (stacked chart, normalized stacked chart with markers, and so on). Select the required thumbnail with the left mouse button and click the OK button.
Step 4
Wait for the Microsoft Office Excel document to open. The view of the work area will change. On the left side of the screen, you will see your text document, on the right side, you will see an Excel document. Enter the data you need in the Excel sheet, set the parameters, rename the coordinate axes, change the data range.
Step 5
You can visually evaluate the results of the changes you make in the Excel document in the left part of the window (in the Word document). When you are finished editing the graph data, close the Excel document in the usual way (by clicking on the [x] icon in the upper right corner of the window, or by choosing Exit from the File menu).
Step 6
To make any changes to the plotted graph, use the "Working with Charts" context menu, which becomes available when you select any element in the area of the graph you have created. In particular, if you made a mistake when entering data in an Excel document, open the Design tab on the Chart Tools menu and click the Edit Data button in the Data section.
