Step 1
To use the Internet channel simultaneously on three computers, you need to connect them to a local network. To do this, you will need three patch cords and one switch. Check if all computers have network cards or the RJ-45 connector itself on the motherboard. If not, then you also need to purchase and install a network card in each computer. They are inexpensive and easy to install. You can consult the store for the purchase of a network board.
Step 2
Install the switch in the most convenient location. Wires from all three computers will go to it, so find the most optimal location with a close outlet to power the device. Turn on the switch, then connect the patch cords to the switch, connect the other ends to computers. It is more convenient to lay the network cable along the baseboard in advance, but to check, you can simply run the cable across the floor of the room.
Step 3
Check if you can see computers on a different network by starting Network Neighborhood. If you will not connect a modem to the switch, which will take over the allocation of addresses, set the default gateway in the network settings and assign each computer its own IP address. You should only take into account the fact that all computers must belong to the same workgroup. You can view and change the settings through My Computer. To do this, right-click and select the "Properties" tab.
Step 4
It is customary to set the gateway address as 192.168.1.1, and the addresses of the computers on the network, increasing the last digit by one. You can set the IP address in the properties of the network connection, in particular, in the "Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP / IP)" parameter. The main thing is that the last digits are different, since the system will not be able to connect two identical IPs.
