New fonts in the system are not only needed by designers. Anyone who uses chat, works with texts, or just loves to make inscriptions and logos in the same Photoshop, sooner or later decides to find new fonts for a change. But after searching for a font, another question arises - how to install this font so that you can work with it later?
Instructions
Step 1
Open the file manager with the downloaded font file. Often these files are packed in archives. Before working with a font, you need to unpack it into any directory convenient for you.
Step 2
Open the "Start" menu and select "Control Panel".
Step 3
In the control panel, you need to find a folder named "Fonts". Open it with a double click.
Step 4
In the window with fonts, select the "File" - "Install Font" menu items. It should be noted that in the Windows 7 operating system, it is enough to right-click on any place in the window space, calling the context menu, and then selecting the "Install font" option.
Step 5
Select the font file in the dialog box. As soon as you specify the required file, the system will automatically recognize the font type and its name.
Step 6
Highlight the required font (if there were several of them in the font file) and click on the "Ok" button (in Windows7 there is a similar "Install" button). Next, you will see a window displaying the installation process, after which your font will be completely ready for work.
Step 7
Check if the font works - launch your favorite text editor, or graphic editor and find the one you just installed in the font selection menu. Or you can check the font directly from the font list window - select the required font and double-click on it with the left mouse button - an example of the inscription will appear in your graphic editor.
Step 8
Please note that if this font does not support Cyrillic (Russian letters), then when you try to use it to write something in Russian, you will see incomprehensible characters instead of text.
