For any device that is installed in the computer, it is necessary to update the drivers from time to time. Updating the drivers will ensure more stable operation of the device. Also, in newer versions of drivers, errors that were made in older versions have been corrected. Many video games also require the latest graphics card and motherboard drivers. You can download the drivers from the Internet. But installing downloaded drivers is slightly different from installing drivers from a disk.
Necessary
Computer, WinRAR archiver, Internet access
Instructions
Step 1
Almost all drivers downloaded from the Internet are packed into an archive. To unpack them, you need to have a WinRAR archiver on your computer. If you don't have an archiver yet, download it from the Internet and install it.
Step 2
Click on the archive file with the drivers with the right mouse button. In the context menu that appears, select "Extract Files". In the next window, select the folder where the extracted files will be placed and click OK.
Step 3
Next, open the folder with the extracted drivers. In this folder, find the Setup or Autorun file and right-click on it. In the menu that appears, select "Open". Then the "Driver Installation Wizard" will start. The installation process is exactly the same as installing the drivers from disk. Just follow the prompts from the "wizard" to install the driver. After completing the driver installation process, restart your computer.
Step 4
If you get an error when opening the Setup or Autorun files and the Installation Wizard does not start, you need to proceed differently. Click on the "My Computer" icon with the right mouse button and select "Properties" from the menu that appears. In the next window, click on "Device Manager". A list of devices will open. In this list, find the device for which the driver was downloaded by right-clicking on it. In the menu that appears, select "Update Driver".
Step 5
In the next window, select "Search for drivers on this computer." Another window will open in which click "Browse" and specify the path to the folder where the drivers are located. Then click Next. The driver installation process will begin. Wait for it to complete and restart your computer, even if the system did not require it.
Step 6
If you get an error while installing the drivers, chances are you downloaded the wrong version of the drivers. Perhaps you have a 32-bit operating system, and you downloaded drivers for a 64-bit one. Take a close look at the driver version. Information on which operating system they are suitable for is in the folder.
