Regardless of how the screenshot is taken - with a dedicated image capture program or by using the Print Screen key - in the end it remains a regular file saved on a local or removable disk. Therefore, you need to delete a screenshot in the same way as any other file.
Instructions
Step 1
Go to the folder where the screenshot was saved, select the desired file with the mouse and press the Delete key. Confirm the command by answering yes to the system question, using the mouse or the Enter key. Another way: move the cursor to the desired file, right-click on it. In the drop-down menu, select the "Delete" command and confirm your choice. The screenshot will be moved to the "Trash".
Step 2
To permanently delete a screenshot, open the "Trash", select the desired file, right-click on it and select the "Delete" command from the drop-down menu. Answer in the affirmative to the system's request to confirm the deletion. To remove all files from the "Trash", select "Empty Trash" and confirm your choice.
Step 3
Image capturing programs have their own menu, with which you can delete screenshots. Using Quick Screen Capture as an example: launch the application. The program window is divided into three areas: the menu, the screenshot itself and links to all screenshots taken with the program, saved in a separate folder. In the lower part of the window, select the link to the image, in the top menu bar select "History". In the drop-down menu, click on the item "Delete selected files" or right-click on the selected link and select the same command from the drop-down menu.
Step 4
If you have set the screenshot as the "Desktop" theme, right-click on any free space on the "Desktop". Select "Properties" from the drop-down menu. In the "Display Properties" dialog box that opens, go to the "Desktop" tab and in the "Wallpaper" section, set a different image. Click the Apply button and close the Properties window. If you have previously deleted the screenshot from the folder where it was saved, this action is not required.
