Should you choose a traditional netbook or a tablet with a keyboard?
Should you choose a traditional netbook or a tablet with a keyboard?

Until recently, a massive laptop seemed like an excellent mobile computer that business people gladly took with them on trips. Well, today you can work with documents or search for information on the Internet from a smartphone, and from a tablet, from a netbook, and from a laptop. However, the best option for work can be considered a tablet with a keyboard or a netbook, since it is these devices that allow you to quickly type texts and work on the Internet, while they are the most compact and have the lowest weight. Let's think about what to choose from these two options - a netbook or a tablet with a keyboard. How are they different and how are they similar?

To begin with, I will make a reservation that in the future I will mean more or less budget devices available to a wide range of buyers.

Dimensions and weight

For work, tablets and netbooks with the largest possible screen size are most convenient. In this regard, they are similar - you can find models with a screen size of about 10-11 inches, which allows you to comfortably read and edit documents, watch videos and even hold presentations with business partners.

Of course, the weight of tablets with keyboards is somewhat lighter than netbooks, but this difference is small.

Operating system and applications

Most often, netbooks are sold with a preinstalled Windows operating system, tablets can be selected for Android or Windows operating systems. Controlling the gadget in both versions does not present problems for an experienced user, and many programs for work and entertainment make both gadgets interchangeable.

Peripheral connectivity

But in this matter, traditional netbooks are still winning, since they have a large number of USB connectors, that is, several devices can be connected to them simultaneously for more comfortable work (for example, a mouse and a printer, etc.).

ROM and other stuffing

In this regard, traditional netbooks also benefit, since they are equipped with ordinary notebook hard drives (about 300-1000 GB in size). In tablets, the usual size of ROM is about 4-32 GB of internal memory and 4-128 memory cards. The performance of the devices is not fundamentally different.

Instead of a total

Of course, it should be noted that the choice always remains with the future user of the device. It is he who is able to objectively assess his needs, expectations and material capabilities. But! I must say that manufacturers do not stand still. Increasingly, instead of conventional netbooks, we are offered devices that combine the advantages of netbooks and tablets with keyboards - netbooks with a touch screen and a small hard drive. These new netbooks are lighter than their predecessors, but like their older brothers, they have all the range of capabilities required by the modern user, which makes them increasingly competitive.
