Instructions

Step 1

Open a layout created with CorelDraw offset printing software. To prepare your layout for printing, add 2mm (minimum) to the existing size for trimming on each side. All elements that carry informational load, such as a logo, text, should be placed at least 3 mm from the edge. Do not use white boxes. Save the bitmap in TIFF format only, use a resolution of 300 dpi. When using import functions with links to an image, submit all illustrations along with the layout. Convert fonts to curves to prepare the layout for printing. If this cannot be done, write down all the fonts that are used along with the layout. Convert all used effects to Bitmap-objects, their extension should be 300 dpi. Group the layout. Modify bitmaps in Photoshop, then import the files into CorelDraw. Open the menu "File" -> "Document Information". Check if there is text, images, or color profiles not in CMYK. If so, please fix it.

Step 2

Save the layout in eps or tif format if you need to prepare the layout for large format printing. At the same time, set the resolution to 150, or better, use the requirements for the layout in the printing house where you will print it. When creating a layout in Adobe Photoshop at the time of preparation for printing, delete all alpha channels from the file, merge the layers into a single one, do not save the file with compression. Repeat the rest from the first step.

Step 3

Open a layout created in InDesign. The file format of such a layout is pdf. With the help of this program, you can create a layout for a printed publication, but it cannot be used for large-format printing. Make sure that the PDF file prepared for printing meets the following requirements: all fonts included in the layout are embedded in it, the resolution of raster images is sufficient for high-quality printing, the selected image compression will not lead to a loss of quality, the colors used are in the correct color space (this depends on specifics of printing), the format of the illustrations is vector, the page parameters are accurate and they take into account the borders right through.

Step 4

Configure Adobe Acrobat Distiller for layout preparation. Resize the page according to the size of the layout, add bleed margins. To do this, go to the "Home" tab. Next, go to the "Compression" tab and reduce the file size. Choose the highest quality. If the dimensions are large, gradually reduce it to the desired size (this should be checked with the print shop managers). Please attach the fonts you are using to the PDF file. Make sure Include All Fonts is checked in the Fonts tab. Do not use ICC profiles in the file - it can distort colors. Open the file in Acrobat Reader and check the following: the file opens easily, the page size is 6 mm larger than the trim format, all pages are in one file and are arranged in order, the file name contains only Latin characters. After that, you can safely send the layout for printing.
