The DVI link is for digital signal transmission. Usually it is used to connect monitors that support high definition or TVs to a stationary computer.
Necessary
DVI cable
Instructions
Step 1
The problem is that most modern TVs do not include a DVI port in the design, because there is a new analog - the HDMI connector. Fortunately, there are special cables that are DVI to HDMI adapters. Purchase such a cable if you need to connect HDMI and DVI ports.
Step 2
Connect it to your computer's video adapter and TV. Turn on both of these devices. Open the TV settings menu and go to the "Signal source" item. Select the HDMI connector to which you connected the cable. Wait for the operating system to load. Most likely, the monitor image will immediately be duplicated on the TV screen.
Step 3
If you want to use only the TV, then simply disconnect the monitor by disconnecting the appropriate cable from the video card. If you need to work with two screens at the same time, then make certain settings. In Windows Seven, just right click on the desktop and select Screen Resolution.
Step 4
In the menu that opens, select the symbolic image of the required screen and activate the "Make this display the main" function. In this case, it is better to choose a standard computer monitor, because this device will be used more often. After all, it is on it that the running programs will initially open.
Step 5
Now activate the Extend This Screen option. All Windows shortcuts and toolbar will disappear from the secondary display. Adjust the position of the displays relative to each other. Move the program window outside the monitor to display it on the TV screen.
Step 6
If you are using the DVI link to connect the projector, then select Duplicate Screens. This will allow the external device to transmit the picture displayed on the monitor.
