Samsung phones come with a USB cable, or as it is also called, a data cable. Even if your computer is equipped with a Bluetooth adapter, it is better to connect your phone to a PC to exchange files and access the Internet via a cable - the data transfer speed will be much higher, moreover, your cell will receive additional power supply and you will not have to recharge the battery.
Instructions
Step 1
Turn on your computer and wait until the operating system is fully loaded. Turn on your phone and also wait for all connected widgets to launch. Insert the microUSB plug into the connector on the phone case - it is located on top of the case and can be covered with a special cover that will need to be moved to the side. Connect the other plug of the cable to an available USB port on your computer.
Step 2
Select the "USB debugging" connection mode from the menu that appears on the screen of your phone. Wait for all the necessary drivers to be installed on your computer. As soon as the installation process is completed, a corresponding message will appear on the screen of your PC. Unplug either end of the cable and plug it back in. Select the connection mode you need in the menu.
Step 3
Use the Samsung Kies connection mode to synchronize your phone's files with your computer through the program of the same name. You can install the latest version of Samsung Kies on your PC by following this link https://www.samsungapps.com/about/onPc.as. Through Kies, you can download apps and media files to your phone, update your phone's firmware, copy data from your phone book to your PC, and more.
Step 4
Use "Media DRM" mode to exchange files with your computer through Windows Explorer. To view the files on your phone, select it from the My Computer menu. If your cell has a memory card inserted, two folders will open - Phone (phone) and Card (memory card). You can, using standard Windows tools, view the files located inside, delete them, copy, rename, add new content to folders.
Step 5
Use the "Removable Disk" mode if you want to use your phone instead of the so-called "flash drive". Attention, in this mode only the memory card installed in the cell will be available, you will not have access to files in the built-in memory of the phone.
Step 6
Use the Internet Sharing mode if you want to use your phone as a modem. After you select this mode, the modem drivers will be installed on your computer and the Samsung Networking Wizard will start to help you establish an Internet connection.
Step 7
Please note that if you constantly need only one connection mode, for example, if you use your phone only as a modem, you can set it as the default mode ("Settings" - "Connection" - USB). Then, after connecting the cable, the mode selection window on the phone screen will not appear. You can change the defaults at any time in the same settings menu.
