The idea of connecting two (or even more) monitors to one computer is haunted by anyone for whom the standard Windows desktop framework is too tight. Anyone who has tried to work with graphics or even texts on a system with two monitors quickly appreciated the convenience of additional electronic spaces. How do you connect two monitors to the system?

  1. If the number of monitors is limited to two, the easiest way is to take advantage of the capabilities of standard computer equipment. Many video cards have an additional output, to which a second monitor is as easy to connect as the first to the main output. After successfully connecting the interface cables, simply turn on the computer. In most cases, the operating system successfully recognizes both devices, after which, in the "Display" section of the Control Panel, you can check the settings of each of the devices, adjusting them if necessary.
  2. In order not only to connect two monitors, but in general to gain a sufficient degree of freedom to connect monitors, keyboards and mice to your system, use an electronic switch. Such a device is called kvm-switch (in this name it is easy to recognize the first letters of the names keyboard, video and mouse, which give an idea of the functional purpose of the device). Different models of such switches differ in the number of supported devices (respectively, monitors, keyboards and mice). Also note the length of the connecting cable from the device to the computer. As a rule, it is limited to 10 meters (which is quite enough for most apartments and houses), but it can reach up to 100 meters.
  3. If the distance at which you plan to use additional monitors is long, then you will have to use a more complex device - a switch. It converts the signal for transmission over Ethernet networks, which means that it can be used to control a computer located on the opposite side of the world. In addition, the quality of the picture obtained on the monitor when using the switch will be much higher, although modes higher than 800x600 are supported by only a few models. This means that it will be possible to work on such a system, but the luxurious game graphics will be irreparably damaged.
