Modern video files can take up a lot of hard disk space. Before recording such videos on various drives, it is often necessary to divide them into several fragments.
Necessary
Sony Vegas
Instructions
Step 1
For most video formats, Sony Vegas is fine. Naturally, it is better to use the Pro version, but almost any modification of the utility is suitable for this task. Download and install the proposed program.
Step 2
Launch Sony Vegas and open the File tab. Go to Open. Wait for the explorer to start and select a video file to process. Now drag the name of the file into the visualization bar to start working with it.
Step 3
Highlight the beginning of the video clip and press S. Move the cursor to the end frame of the first clip. Press the S key again. Right-click on the selected region and select Save As.
Step 4
Enter the title of the first part of your video. Repeat this algorithm until you have created the required number of elements. Use a unique file name each time you save the regions.
Step 5
If after saving fragments they do not start or are displayed incorrectly, use the decoder built into the program. Click on the selected segment and select Render As.
Step 6
Select the folder where the file will be saved. Indicate its type and enter a name. Be sure to check the box next to Render loop region only. Select the appropriate option in the Template field and click the Custom button.
Step 7
Click the Project tab and select Best for Video rendering quality. You can leave the rest of the video processing parameters unchanged. Save the resulting segment. Check its quality. If you are satisfied with the result, repeat this cycle to extract the rest of the fragments.
Step 8
Try not to change advanced video recording options. This can result in the total size of all received items being significantly larger than the original size of the video file.
