In the process of traveling on the Internet, as well as when exchanging information with friends, a situation often arises when suspicious data is written to a computer. It may be a harmless program, but it has access to system resources. Or a virus that disguises itself as a normal working program. In such cases, Kaspersky Anti-Virus proposes to move the file to quarantine - a special area where data will be encrypted and further stored in a state that is safe for the system.
Necessary
- - antivirus;
- - administrator rights;
- - computer.
Instructions
Step 1
To quarantine any file, you need to use the standard hardware of this antivirus program. Open the Kaspersky Anti-Virus window. To do this, just click once with the left mouse button on the program icon in the tray (the area of the taskbar next to the clock). Or launch the program from the Start menu. It is also worth noting that the launch shortcut can be located on your desktop.
Step 2
Click on the inscription "Quarantine" in the upper right corner of the screen. This arrangement of control buttons is typical for the 2011 version. If you have a different version, you can always find this item through the help section. However, there should be no problems here. The developers have created an intuitive interface, so you can find an item in the menu in a few seconds.
Step 3
All files that have ever been quarantined will appear in the list. To move a program or file to quarantine, click on the "Move to quarantine" message. You can place various files, both from local disks of your computer, and from portable media that are available in USB ports.
Step 4
In the window that appears, specify the path to the files and click "OK". The data will be placed in a special area and processed. You can disinfect the malicious content by clicking the Disinfect All button. Files that cannot be disinfected remain permanently in quarantine.
Step 5
Not always, Kaspersky Anti-Virus warnings are triggered by viruses, as the program may seem suspicious and completely safe files. However, security issues should not be neglected. When in doubt, quarantine the files. Also, try to always have copies of all information that is stored on your computer so that in any cases of computer infection, you can reinstall the system without regret.
