When an antivirus program finds a virus on your computer, it quarantines it. This is done because among the infected files there may be files that the user needs. They can be restored from quarantine. In quarantine, the infected file is not active and cannot harm the computer. Over time, it collects a certain number of files that need to be deleted.
Instructions
Step 1
Run a full scan of your computer. Select all logical drives and RAM as scan objects. Select "Deep Scan" as the scan profile. Wait until the end of the procedure. In this mode, the computer runs slower, so it is not recommended to carry out any operations during this process. If the antivirus program detects infected files, it will quarantine them.
Step 2
Now you need to go to "Quarantine". In each anti-virus program, the path to the "Quarantine" tab can be different. Just examine the antivirus menu carefully and you will find this tab. For example, in the ESET NOD32 antivirus program, in order to open the "Quarantine" folder, you need to select the "Utilities" option in the main program menu. Then select "Quarantine" from the list of utilities.
Step 3
After you open "Quarantine", examine what files are placed there by the antivirus. Must include File Size, Object Name, and Reason. The line "Reason" indicates the file name and type of virus. In quarantine, viruses are completely inactive and cannot harm your computer. Check if there are any files you need among the infected files. If so, you can restore them and try to clean them.
Step 4
Now right-click on the file you want to remove from quarantine. A context menu will appear. In it, select the "Delete" command. The virus will be removed from your computer.
Step 5
If the file is not deleted, then this file is a system file. That is, without it, the operating system cannot work. You cannot delete system files. Since the virus is isolated in quarantine, it no longer spreads, which means this file will not harm your computer. Let it continue to be saved in the "Quarantine" folder.
