A blue screen with white and yellow text on Windows family systems signals an error so severe that the system was unable to cope with it. This is a rather serious failure, which is why the blue screen is also called the blue screen of death.

And if a single appearance of a blue screen is not yet a reason for panic, and can only serve as a sign of only an accidental failure of one of the system components functioning at the level of its kernel (for example, the driver of one of the devices), then the constant appearance of a blue screen is already a reason for serious anxiety. In this case, the user's task is not to remove the blue screen, but to eliminate the cause of its appearance.

  1. The simplest reason for the appearance of a blue screen, which an ordinary user can independently diagnose and even try to remove the blue screen, may be a malfunction of the hard disk. First, run a disk check. If, as a result of the check, bad sectors are found, then it is necessary as soon as possible to copy the valuable information to another medium and replace the disk.
  2. Another reason for the appearance of a blue screen is incorrect operation of the RAM. To get rid of the blue screen, first run a memory test using any dedicated utility (for example, the popular TestMem), and then act depending on its results. If an unstable memory operation is found, then the only thing that an experienced user can do, besides buying and installing new memory modules, is to try to remove the oxide film from the contacts of the memory cards, which can impede the passage of electrical impulses. To do this, turn off the computer, open the case, carefully remove the memory modules and clean their contacts (this can be done with an ordinary school eraser), then reinstall the memory, close the case and turn on the computer. It is often enough and just to take out the memory and insert it back. A repeated memory test will show if there have been any positive changes.
  3. The next step, in case the blue screen does not want to disappear, should be, unfortunately, a reinstallation of the system. Be sure to back up any valuable data beforehand.

In general, the appearance of a blue screen is a reason to immediately contact the technical support of the manufacturer or seller of the computer.
