Modern keyboards are striking in convenience and reliability. However, not a single "keyboard" can become as convenient as possible until the user himself gets down to business. Sometimes it is necessary to reassign the keyboard buttons for comfortable operation. To achieve the goal, you need to download special software.
Necessary
- - Computer with Internet access;
- - MapKeyboard program.
Instructions
Step 1
Go to the MapKeyboard website at https://www.inchwest.com/mapkeyboard.htm. Download the software and install it on your computer. Start the MapKeyboard program.
Step 2
After the virtual keyboard appears on the monitor display, start changing the keys. To do this, left-click on the virtual button whose value you want to change.
Step 3
In the Remap selected key to box, select a new value for the selected button. Please note that if the keypad button is successfully reassigned, it will be highlighted in green.
Step 4
Find the item Save layout and click on it. Don't save your changes until you redo all the buttons. The fact is that after clicking on save, the program will require exiting first from its menu, and then from the Windows session in order to restart the computer.
Step 5
After restarting the operating system, go to the program to make sure that the new key order is saved correctly. The reassigned buttons will be highlighted in green.
Step 6
If something went wrong or you need to immediately return the values to the default state, then you need to restart the MapKeyboard program. Find the item Reset keyboard layout and click on it.
Step 7
Examine the virtual keyboard carefully. It should be one color. If some buttons still light up green, this means that the reset was unsuccessful and the procedure must be repeated.
