A mouse is a device with which the user can interact with objects on the computer: open them, move them, change them, delete them. Each mouse button has a different purpose. By default, the left button is considered the main button - it opens folders, starts programs, selects objects. The right button is auxiliary, it is used to quickly complete tasks. These parameters can be changed.

Step 1
To change the buttons on the mouse, call the mouse properties window. To do this, open the Control Panel through the Start menu. If the link to the "Control Panel" is not displayed in the "Start" menu, right-click in an empty space on the taskbar (located at the bottom of the screen) and select "Properties" from the drop-down menu - the "Properties of the taskbar and Start menu" dialog box will open …
Step 2
Go to the "Start Menu" tab in the window that opens. In the "Start Menu" field, click on the "Customize" button. Go to the "Advanced" tab in the new window and in the "Start Menu Items" section, find the "Control Panel" line. Place a marker in the field opposite the inscription "Display as a link", click the OK button. In the properties window, click the "Apply" button and close the window using the OK button or the X icon.
Step 3
With the Control Panel open, go to the Printers and Other Hardware category and click on the Mouse icon. If the panel has a classic look, immediately select the desired icon. The "Properties: Mouse" dialog box appears. Go to the "Mouse Buttons" tab in this window. In the "Button configuration" group, set a marker in the "Change button assignment" field.
Step 4
The new settings will take effect immediately. Perform all subsequent actions with the right mouse button, and use the left mouse button as an auxiliary one. Press the "Apply" button with the right mouse button and close the properties window by clicking on the OK button or by clicking on the X icon in the upper right corner of the window. If in the future you want to change the button assignment again, open the "Properties: Mouse" window as described in the third step and simply remove the marker from the marked field. Confirm the new parameters by clicking on the "Apply" button, close the window.
