A wireless Internet connection is extremely convenient at home and provides high-quality and reliable network reception. The connection is made using a router, which requires preliminary configuration.

Instructions
Step 1
Make sure your internet connection and your DSL or cable modem are working properly. To do this, carefully follow the instructions of your ISP to connect to the network. Turn on your wireless router.
Step 2
Connect your wireless router to your modem. Your modem must always remain connected to the Internet.
Step 3
Set up your wireless router. Use the network cable that came with it to temporarily connect your computer to one of the open ports on the device. Restart your computer if necessary. It should automatically connect to the device.
Step 4
Open Internet Explorer and enter the URL for configuring the router as indicated in the instructions for it. Do this on the computer you are using to configure your wireless network. It will automatically connect you to the correct remote addresses.
Step 5
Enter the password on the router's configuration page. Refer again to the instructions for your device or visit the manufacturer's website. You will see the necessary settings for the router, as well as the IP address of the modem and other information. Most of the settings should already be set by default.
Step 6
Create a network security key, which most routers require during configuration. You will be asked to come up with a unique phrase that the device will use to create multiple key files. Make sure your phrase is not too long. Some routers and modems have a feature called Quick Setup Security (or QSS) that automatically provides a key when you press the appropriate button.
Step 7
Connect to the network using your username and password using the configured router. Check the speed of opening sites, the overall stability of all devices.
