Almost every user asks himself this question, because no one wants to wait until a program, file or folder opens, a page on the Internet loads, the smartest machine boots. Let's take a look at the most common causes of PC slowdowns.
1. Try to remember - has it always been this way or can you argue that when a computer appeared in your house, it simply "flew"?
If there was always slow work, then we can confidently say that these are the capabilities of the devices and the computer can work faster only if you use less demanding software. Otherwise, you will have to clean the OS, in particular startup, browser cache, remove unused programs and outdated files. Remove all the "decorations" of the system - additionally installed panels on the desktop, select the simplest Windows design, remove all visual effects. Defragment your hard drive periodically.
2. The performance of your computer or laptop may decrease if you have changed your operating system to a more modern one. It's no secret that Microsoft is actively releasing new versions of Windows, and each time new versions of the OS require more and more powerful hardware to work quickly. In such a situation, in order for the computer to work quickly, you just need to return to an earlier version of Windows (downgrade).
Also, if possible, you should make at least a small upgrade of your computer - buy additional RAM (if there are free slots for installation or there are too small RAM sticks installed there), purchase a faster processor (do not forget that it will not work for your motherboard every processor!), changing the hard drive to a faster and larger one will also not hurt.
3. System settings also significantly affect the speed of its operation. Among the settings - the size of the paging file, resizing which by an illiterate user will slow down the PC.
4. Viruses can also severely slow down your computer. It is imperative to constantly check your computer with an antivirus, delete or disinfect infected files found by it. Do not open suspicious letters, and even more so do not download the attached files (and do not open them).
5. The speed of the PC may be affected by improper operation of the cooling system. If overheating of PC components is detected by software (various temperature monitors), preventive measures should be taken to remove dust and debris from the computer or laptop case and, if necessary, replace the thermal paste.
