Users are faced with working with archives almost from the moment they purchase their first PC. And over time, they realize that an archive is a convenient way to store and transfer almost any file to other users.
Working with archives for inexperienced users does not seem very simple, although, in fact, there is nothing complicated in it. As it is already clear from the meaning of the term itself, archiving allows you to compress files and folders, and therefore conveniently transfer them to other users on flash drives, disks or via the Internet.
In my opinion, one of the following two programs should be used to work with archives:
1. WinRAR. An old and very popular program. Its interface is extremely simple, and you can work with it through the context menu that appears when you right-click. WinRAR works quickly, compresses files of different types well, allows you to work with archives of different types.
When using the program, be sure to take into account that it is paid (the cost is about 2 thousand rubles for a single-user version), but you can use a trial period.
2.7-Zip. Also a very popular and user-friendly program. It is often recommended by experts because it is free and allows you to comfortably work with different types of archives. 7-Zip can also be safely recommended to not very experienced users, since it has a simple interface (in Russian as well), it can be present in the context menu (which opens when you right-click).
Helpful hint: when studying the archiver interface, please note that you can set a password when creating an archive. In this case, only the person to whom you provide the password will be able to unpack and view the file (folder with files). This feature is convenient for transferring over the Internet archives containing information that you would not like to see in the public domain.
