Smart home systems are gradually entering our lives, because it is really convenient to be able to control the climate of your home, as well as to increase the level of its security.
The formation of a "smart home" system completely depends on the wishes and capabilities of the owner. It is not at all necessary to purchase the most expensive and complex systems, it is better to solve specific problems and, instead of a ready-made solution, choose your own configuration.
Let's look at what sensors can be included in the smart home system. Let's conditionally divide them into the following groups:
1. Protection against intrusion
This group includes sensors for movement, opening of windows or doors, glass breakage. Accordingly, these devices will make it possible to detect in time a criminal who has encroached on property in the absence of the owners of the house. Depending on the configuration of the security system, at the moment the sensor is triggered, a siren may turn on (to scare off a thief), an alert may be triggered via a mobile phone, e-mail, and a call may be made to the security console.
CCTV cameras should also be included in this group.
2. Protection from utility problems
Communal misfortunes can be troublesome and costly. In apartment buildings, it is worth installing at least the simplest detectors for smoke, gas, water leaks. On the market, you can find both conventional indicators and sensors combined with valves to shut off leaks and the ability to report a problem via mobile communication.
3. For increased comfort
To control the microclimate at home, you can also install sensors - humidity, temperature, light control. Thus, having an air conditioning system, the home owner will be able to adjust the temperature regime that is comfortable for him, and the light, motion or sound sensors will allow to control the lighting of the home without switches, which will significantly reduce energy consumption.
Please note: If you do not plan to install a full-fledged "smart" system at home, you can use separate sensors that work autonomously. This option will be cheaper, although security will be less secure.
