Launching a new flash drive on a computer does not require any complex manipulations from the user. However, when turning on a flash card that was previously used on computers, you should consider the risk of infecting your PC.

Step 1
Inclusion of a new flash card. After you have purchased a USB flash drive, you can connect it to your computer as follows. Insert the flash card into a free USB connector, and then wait for the device to be detected by the system. As soon as the flash drive is detected, a dialog box will be launched where you will be prompted to open its folder. Close the window without choosing any action, then go to the "My Computer" section. On the shortcut of the flash card, right-click and select "Properties". In properties, you need to format the device using slow formatting. After that, you can use the flash card.
Step 2
Inclusion of a previously used flash card. After you insert the device into the USB port, the system detects the USB flash drive as removable media and prompts you to open its folder in a dialog box. Do not do this under any circumstances. Close the dialog box, then open the "My Computer" folder. Right-click on the device shortcut and select the "Scan for viruses" option. This option appears if antivirus software is installed on your computer. If you do not have an antivirus, we advise you to refrain from opening the flash drive until you install it. After scanning a flash card with an antivirus, you can open it if no malware or scripts were detected on it during the scan.
