The pivot table is a summarizing and analyzing data plate. The original information for it can be stored on another sheet, on several sheets, or even in an external database. You can change its structure and thus receive a variety of summary statements for the information of the same source tables.

Instructions
Step 1
Start Excel, open the file with the table (s), information sources to create a pivot table. Next, select the "Data" menu, there select the "Pivot Table" command. Then follow the steps of the wizard to build pivot tables sequentially.
Step 2
Select the data source for the pivot table. If it is a single table, then select Microsoft Excel list or database. Click "Next". Define the data source itself, here specify the continuous range in which the source information is located. To load a data source from another workbook, click the Browse button. Click "Next".
Step 3
Set the structure of the future pivot table, define the source table headers that will be used as columns, rows and fields of the pivot table. Select the data to be summarized. To create the structure of the pivot table, drag the fields you want to the appropriate areas in the table template.
Step 4
As data, use the sum over a specific field with numeric data or the number of values if the source data is in text format. Click the Next button to complete the construction of the PivotTable in Excel.
Step 5
Determine where the generated pivot table will be located. You can position it on a blank sheet or select the upper left corner of the range where the table will be inserted on the active sheet. A pivot table will appear on the screen, which has the property of interactivity: select the value of the table field, and it will be recalculated for this particular element. Rebuild the table structure. To do this, simply drag the fields to the desired areas. You can also change the titles of fields and field elements.
