To learn the multiplication table, you need to have an example in front of your eyes, where each combination of numbers will be visible in an understandable and accessible form. You can create a multiplication table in Excel, while you yourself can print any columns or rows of the table in the optimal size.

It is necessary

  • - a computer;
  • - Excel program.

Instructions

Step 1

Make the top row of numbers first. To do this, in the second cell of the first line B1, write the number 2. In the next cell C1, add the formula, that is, write: "= B1 + 1" (without quotes) and press Enter. You will see that the program will calculate the value of this cell itself, and the number 3 will appear in it.

Step 2

In order not to write the formula every time, move the cursor over the lower right corner of cell C1 and, while holding the left mouse button pressed, stretch it several cells to the right (to get a multiplication table from 2 to 9 - by 6 cells).

Step 3

Make a vertical row of numbers in the same way. In cell A2 write the number 2, in cell A3 the formula "= A2 + 1", then stretch the formula down a few cells.

Step 4

Start filling in the center of the table from the first column. To do this, write in cell B2 the formula "= $ B $ 1 * A2" or simply "= 2 * A2". Then, grabbing the cell by the cross in the lower right corner, apply the formula to all the cells below. Check, all the column numbers must be multiplied by 2.

Step 5

Fill in the rest of the columns in the same way: in the top cell, write the formula in which multiply the number indicated in the column heading by the row name.

Step 6

In order not to type the name of the cells manually each time, you can do the following: write in the cell the "=" sign, number, multiplication sign, and then use the mouse to indicate the cell, the value of which should be multiplied by this number.

Step 7

When the base of the table is ready, align the column widths. To do this, select all the columns of the table by clicking not on the cells, but on the letters denoting the column number (as a result, the entire columns should be selected).

Step 8

Move the mouse cursor over the line separating the columns (also at the level of lettering), you will see how it transforms into a double arrow. Drag it to the right or left, the width of all columns will change. Change the height of the lines in the same way.

Step 9

In order not to confuse the headings of columns and rows with the results, select the necessary cells and use the formatting panel or the menu item of the right button "Format cells" to change the size, color, font of the inscription, fill the entire cell as a whole. You can make these cells larger than the rest.

Step 10

If you are going to print the table, find the "Page setup" item in the printer settings and adjust the scale so that the typed multiplication table is on the sheet in the desired size.
