Fonts are used in the Windows operating system to style text appropriately when editing it in applications for creating text documents or graphics. In Windows, fonts are located in a special folder and the user can add them himself to use in any programs.
Instructions
Step 1
Fonts in Windows are located in the Windows - Fonts directory of the local C: drive. All installed font files should be placed in this folder for further use in editing text.
Step 2
To install a font, you must first download it from the Internet. Today there are a large number of resources that have a large base of archives for installation. Go to any similar site and download the character sets you like. The extension of the downloaded files should preferably be.ttf.

If the downloaded character sets were presented on the site as an archive, unpack it using the WinRAR program. Copy the resulting files by selecting them with the left, and then clicking the right mouse button and selecting "Copy" or "Cut".
Step 4
Go to "Start" - "Computer" and select "Local drive C:". Go to the Windows - Fonts folder and paste the copied files by right-clicking in the Explorer window and selecting "Paste".
Step 5
Fonts can also be installed automatically. If you have Windows 7 installed on your computer, just double-click on the.ttf file to apply the desired character set and confirm its installation. To import the files you need, you can also go to the "Start" - "Control Panel" - "Appearance and Personalization" - "Fonts". You can transfer the desired fonts here directly from any folder. In this window, you can also configure the parameters for displaying symbols and their style.
Step 6
After completing the copying procedure, you can go to a text or graphic editor and select the font you need. If, when entering characters, the selected set of letters is not displayed, then it works only for Latin or some other layout. If you want to display Russian letters, download the.ttf files that support Russian.
