Step 1
The latest versions of this program have an automatic image compression function. This function gives only a slight compression. If a person makes a presentation in an earlier version of PowerPoint, this function is not there, most likely, he will not install the new version just for the sake of reducing the weight of the pictures. You can perform compression as follows: click the "File" menu, in the list that opens, select the "Save As" item. In the window that opens, click the "Service" button, then check the box next to the "Compress Pictures" item.

You can use third-party utilities to compress the volume of your presentation, such as NXPowerLite. This software works with all operating system platforms and supports any version of presentation files, including the most recent. Because the program is multifunctional, it is a paid utility. But if you need to use this program only two or three dozen times, you can use the trial period.
Step 3
Launch the program, select the interface language, unfortunately, there is no Russian localization, so select English. Then go to the program settings. In the compression ratio block, it is desirable to set the value to Custom compression. Here you can check Allow image cropping (cuts off images that go beyond the screen frame), Allow image resizing (reduces the size of pictures to fit the screen format) and Allow JPEG compression (compresses all jpeg images).
Step 4
Also, this program allows you to recode all modules built into the presentation, replacing them with similar images. After such coding, the modules will be impossible to edit. With the maximum compression settings set, the compression of the presentation file can reach 55%, which is more than half.
Step 5
After setting all the settings, it remains to run the program and after a while a small window will appear on the screen with a message about the completion of the operation to reduce the presentation. This window will show the file sizes before and after the optimization, as well as the degree of compression.
