To enter certain settings for the modem, there are various menu items that you need to use, depending on which element of the device you want to configure. It is recommended to first read the instructions for your network equipment.

Step 1
To enter the settings for connecting using a modem, use the "Start" menu or the control panel. Go further to the network connections section and select "Create a new connection" in the upper left corner.

Enter the data provided to you by your service provider, also pre-configure access using a connection to the virtual part of the Internet or other options according to the established connection procedure for the current provider. Often, most of them have special programs for automatic creation with all the prescribed settings. Add a shortcut to the desktop, enter the username and password according to the data in the agreement.

To configure detailed modem settings, double click on the LAN connection shortcut. Without fail, for this connection, the use of the modem you are configuring must be specified by default (for cases when there are several of them at once).

Select your hardware setup. You should have a new window with several tabs, navigate to the desired part of the modem configuration and set the desired settings.

In order to configure specific parameters for your modem, go to the "Device Manager" menu in the computer properties on the tab named "Hardware". After that, make the necessary changes by entering the settings.
Step 6
Save the transformations and test the connection. This option is often used for USB modems, but you can also configure the usual network equipment built into your computer from this menu.

If you are using separate software to control the modem, enter the settings directly in the menu of this utility and, if possible, do not use the general settings for the computer.
