Typically, users do not have enough system resources to perform work in applications. However, there are also the opposite situations - to work, for example, in old versions of Windows or testing programs in conditions of insufficient system resources, it may be necessary to reduce the amount of RAM.
Necessary
- - screwdriver or screwdriver;
- - an emulator program.
Instructions
Step 1
Disconnect the computer from the power source. Using a screwdriver or screwdriver, unscrew the bolts from the cover of the system unit. Open the case and read the contents.
Step 2
Find your RAM. Usually boards are thin long strips about 1.5-2 cm wide and about 10. If there are more than one strips, then unfasten all those that give excess resources to perform the tasks you need. To do this, unfasten the fasteners on the sides to the sides and simply remove the memory from the socket on the motherboard.
Step 3
Close the computer cover, secure it in position with screws. Turn on your computer. When the operating system boots up, notice if the speed has changed.
Step 4
Open My Computer. In the area free of icons, right-click and select Properties. You will have different information about the system resources of the computer and the operating system, see how much the value of the RAM has decreased. Close the windows.
Step 5
Run a program that was difficult to open due to a lack of system resources. If it does not open, right-click on its shortcut, select "Properties", check the boxes in the compatibility mode with previous versions of the Windows operating system. At the same time, try to choose the one that corresponds to your application by the years of release and relevance.
Step 6
If the previous points did not help, use an emulator program for previous versions of the operating system. After installation, at the first start, set all the necessary parameters and try to launch the application in the emulator mode. In the event that the program does not start, make sure that its copy is working, for example, try opening it on a computer with a lower power rating.
