A situation may arise when it is necessary to cut a person out of the existing background for its further replacement or editing. It is believed that doing this is quite problematic, because the human silhouette can sometimes blend into the background with a huge number of small details, such as developing hair. In fact, you can easily cut out a person with the smart use of Adobe Photoshop image editing software.

Instructions
Step 1
Open the photo you will be working with in Photoshop. Create an additional blank layer and fill it with a solid color (like blue or green). Place it under the layer with the main photo, and then attach a mask to the layer with the working photo (Add Layer Mask).

Click on the photo, now you will be working with her colors. Open the Color Range command, you will see a window in which you need to select a fragment of the photo by which the outline selection will be determined. Click on either the lightest part of the background or the darkest part of the silhouette, then click OK.
You can see how the path selection was formed. Now switch to layer mask mode - on the same layer as your photo, click on the icon of the mask attached to it.
Step 3
Select black on the palette and grab a soft brush of the desired diameter from the toolbox. Paint the areas around the silhouette with black to make the background areas invisible.
To neatly cut out hair that has a non-uniform and translucent texture in the strands, you can additionally call the Color Range command and select the outline of the person's head in the photo again. The contour will go over the main contrasting places of the hairstyle, and you will only have to correct it with a soft eraser or blend with the Smudge tool.
Step 4
Depending on whether you have a dark or light background, you can cut your hair and silhouette in different ways, paying more or less attention to the presence of extra light tones in the outline. If the background will be uniform and dark, further edit the cut silhouette using levels, as well as brightness and contrast settings so that the photo does not get too out of the gamut of the dark background. In the case of a light background, ignore some light objects on the outline, they will not interfere.
