Blocking ads in the popular Opera browser can be implemented in several ways. Sequentially including each of them, you will create a layered defense against annoying web scripts that sell everything in the world to every web surfer you meet. Perhaps the measures taken will help save traffic, time, nerves and make the use of network resources more efficient and safer.
Instructions
Step 1
Use your own browser capabilities - it has built-in mechanisms for blocking pop-up ads. Open the browser menu, go to the "Settings" section and select the "General settings" line. A separate window will open just on the "Basic" tab you need. In the drop-down list under the text "Specify what to do with pop-up windows", select one of the four options for responding to this advertising mechanism and click OK.
Step 2
There is a shorter way to select the method for blocking pop-ups - just press the F12 key and a list of "quick settings" will appear on the screen. The top four lines in it contain the same options for responding to this advertising technique - select the one you want.
Step 3
Install an additional extension that blocks more than just pop-up ads. Open the menu in the browser and in the "Extensions" section click the "Select extensions" item. Opera will load the manufacturer's website page, using which you can choose the extension you need from among more than a thousand options. Enter, for example, adblock in the search field, and get links to different ad blocker options. Read the descriptions, choose the most suitable ad filter and click the "Install" link. The browser will do the rest by itself, and you will be able to enable, disable or remove this extension at any time using the panel called by the Ctrl + Shift + E keyboard shortcut. The menu also contains a link to this panel - it is called "Manage Extensions" and placed in the "Extensions" section.

Install a standalone application designed to block ads not only in Opera, but in all browsers you use. You can find many such programs on the Internet - for example, Ad Muncher, AdGuard, ATGuard and others.
