When creating trainers and videos that are based on video games, you often need to "pull out" the original sounds. Not all developers leave the game files freely available, audio files can be encoded into special files or simply hidden. To record any sounds from games, just use a special program.

Sound Forge software

Instructions

Step 1

Since this program is best known by the user of modern computers, it is not difficult to record sound using this program. After starting the program, do not forget to turn off all active microphones, otherwise the recording will be carried out from them. For example, in games like Counter Strike, turning off the microphone alone is not enough. In console mode, type the appropriate command (voice_enable "0") or set this value in the config.cfg configuration file.

Step 2

Click the "Start" menu, select "Control Panel", in the window that opens, double-click on the "Sounds and Audio Devices" icon. On the "Audio" tab, go to change the volume setting when recording sound, set the slider to the upper position (maximum).

Step 3

A new file must be created in Sound Forge. Click the File menu, then select New or press Ctrl + N. Now you need to decide on the recording quality and the frequency of discrediting. For each game, these values may be different, so you can search the Internet for detailed information about discrediting the sound files of a particular game. We will look at the example of the game Counter Strike.

Step 4

Click the top File menu, then select Properties, or press alt="Image" + Enter. In the window that opens, go to the Format tab, set the following values:

- sample rate: 22050;

- bit-depth: 16 or 8;

- channels: Mono.

A request will appear in a new window, activate the Mix Channels item.

Step 5

Now let's go directly to the recording. Click the Record button on the toolbar (with a red dot). In the window that opens, you need to select exactly the sound card that is currently active (Device item). Click the Record button in this window and go to the game.

Step 6

When the desired amount of time has elapsed for a particular piece of music, return to the Sound Forge program and press the Stop or Pause button. Sound from the game has been recorded. To save the entire recorded track, click the File menu, then select the Save As item, specify a save location for the file, and give the file a name. The sound file will be saved after clicking the "Save" button.
