You can restrict access to data on your computer with a password. It will be requested every time the operating system boots. You can set a password for entering the system in just a few clicks, however, as well as change or delete it.
Instructions
Step 1
Enter the control panel via the Start menu. If the control panel has a classic look, click on the "User Accounts" icon. If the panel is displayed by category, select the item "User accounts" and select the task "Create an account" by clicking on the corresponding icon with the left mouse button. A new window will open.
Step 2
In the window that opens, click on the "Admin" icon - another additional window "User accounts" will open. In it, select the task "Create a password" by clicking on the corresponding line with the left mouse button.
Step 3
In the first field, enter a new password that the system will ask for at every boot. In the second field, re-enter the same password so that the system makes sure you remember it. The third field is optional. But if you are not sure if you can remember your password in a few hours or days, enter the hint text.
Step 4
Click the Create Password button. You can then close the User Accounts window or add additional restrictions to other users by making certain files and folders private. Click the "No" button if you do not need it, or the "Yes, make them personal" button. When you press the second button, the system will automatically perform all the necessary actions.
Step 5
If you do not like the standard icon that stands for Computer Administrator, select the Change Image task in the User Accounts window. From the options offered, select the image that you like by clicking on it with the left mouse button. Click the Change Image button. To set a custom icon, select the "Find other pictures" command, in the window that opens, specify the path to your own file. Close the window.
