Sometimes a situation may arise in which the system stops booting due to incorrect settings set in the BIOS Setup. For example, you can choose too aggressive settings for the system bus frequency or too low RAM timings. Some modern motherboards automatically restore the previous BIOS Setup settings if the boot fails. Unfortunately, most motherboards lack these features.

Step 1
What if you are confronted with any of the above options? In this situation, you need to reset the BIOS with the restoration of all default settings, which will ensure the standard boot of the computer. To do this, you need to open the case of the system unit, which is not entirely pleasant if the computer is under warranty. In case of a warranty case, it is better to contact the service center of the store where the computer was purchased, otherwise you may lose warranty service.
Step 2
So, to reset the BIOS settings, first of all, completely disconnect the computer from the power supply by removing the corresponding wire from the power supply. Then open the case of the system unit. Find the jumper responsible for resetting the settings, usually it is marked as Clear CMOS, but there may be other options. In most cases, this jumper (jumper) is located next to the battery on the motherboard. To reset the settings, you need to move the jumper from position 1-2 to position 2-3 (where 1-2 and 2-3 are the numbers of closed contacts), and then put it back.
Step 3
The second option for resetting the settings is to remove the motherboard battery and insert it back in a minute. In this case, the BIOS settings will also be reset to zero.
Step 4
After resetting the settings, close the computer cover. Plug the cord back into the power supply and turn on the system unit. Go to BIOS Setup and perform the initial setup - at a minimum, you will need to set the current system date and time.
