There are times when the network card does not recognize the equipment connected to it. To fix the problem, you need to uninstall the driver for the network card and install a new one. Of course, to install a new driver, it is not necessary to remove the old one, but then there may be a case of driver incompatibility, and it will simply not be possible to install a newer version of the driver without removing the old one.
Necessary
Computer, network card
Instructions
Step 1
You need to uninstall the network card driver depending on the way it was installed. If you installed the network card driver from the disk, then it must be removed using the "Add or Remove Programs". Such driver versions are installed along with additional components that extend the functionality of the device, and therefore are recognized by the system as programs.
Step 2
Find the name of the network card in the documentation for your computer, write it down or remember it. Click "Start", select the line "Control Panel", find the line "Add or Remove Programs. In the list of programs, look for a program whose name will partially or completely coincide with the name of the network card. Select this program. Select the "Delete" action from the list of possible actions. At the end of the uninstallation process, you will be prompted to restart your computer. Reboot. After the reboot process, the network driver will be removed.
Step 3
The second removal method is suitable if you have not installed any drivers on the network card. This means that the system driver for the network card is on your computer. Click on the "My Computer" icon on the desktop or select "My Computer" from the "Start" command. In the context menu that appears, select the "Properties" command. Then find the line "Device Manager". Look for the Network Adapters tab. Depending on the operating system you are using, this section may have a different name, for example, "Network Hardware" or "Network Cards".
Step 4
There is an arrow opposite this section. Click on it. The name of the network card that is installed on the computer will open. Click on it with the right mouse button. In the context menu that opens, select the "Properties" command. Click on the "Driver" tab. A list of operations that can be performed on the device driver appears. Select the "Delete" command. After uninstalling, again agree to restart the computer. Depending on the installed hardware, restarting the computer is not always required. So, if at the end of the uninstallation you are not prompted to restart your computer, this does not mean that something is wrong. The driver will still be removed.
