Automatic reboot of the system can be caused both by failures of the installed equipment, as well as by updates and even by the actions of virus applications. The specific actions to prevent automatic restart of the computer depend on the reasons causing it.
Instructions
Step 1
Call the main menu of the Microsoft Windows operating system to prevent remote restart of the computer caused by the abnormal termination of the svchost service and go to the All Programs item.
Step 2
Select "Standard" and select "Command Prompt".
Step 3
Enter shutdown / a in the command interpreter text box and confirm the command by pressing the Enter function key.
Step 4
Return to the main menu "Start" and call the context menu of the item "My Computer" by clicking the right mouse button to prohibit the automatic reboot of the system in case of system failures.

Select Properties and select the Advanced tab of the Properties dialog box that appears.
Step 6
Click the Options button in the Startup and Recovery section and uncheck the Auto restart box in the new dialog box.
Step 7
Confirm the application of the selected changes by clicking the OK button and return to the main "Start" menu again to perform the procedure of prohibiting the automatic restart of the computer after the installation of system updates.
Step 8
Go to Run and enter gpedit.msc in the Open field.

Confirm the launch of the "Group Policy Editor" tool and select "Local Group Policies".

Expand the Computer Configuration link and go to the Administrative Tools item.

Select Windows Components and expand Windows Updates.

Expand the No auto-restart with logged on users for sheduled automatic updates installations policy by double-clicking and apply the checkbox to the Enabled field.

Confirm the selected changes by clicking OK and close the Group Policy Editor tool.

Return to the Run menu if the Group Policy Editor tool is not available and enter regedit in the Open field to use the Registry Editor utility.

Expand the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwarePolicies registry key and change the value of the NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUsers parameter from 0 to 1.

Close the Registry Editor tool to apply the selected changes.
