GSM modems enable access to the Internet from a laptop or computer wirelessly, using the networks of mobile operators to connect. This is convenient for traveling or if there is no wired internet connection in your area.

Instructions
Step 1
Connect the modem to a computer port, it can be a COM or USB port, depending on the operator. Insert the SIM card that you will use to surf the Internet into the modem. To connect the gsm modem, turn on its power. Then go to the main menu of your computer, select the "Programs" item, then "Standard" - "Communication", select the HyperTerminal program from the list and launch it. Next, create a new connection with any name to connect the gsm modem to the computer.
Step 2
Connect the modem to the computer port, if it was not possible to connect it in the previous step, select the main menu item "Control Panel", the option "Phone and Modem", then select the "Modems" tab, click the "Add" button.
Step 3
Then select the item "Do not detect the type of modem", in the next window select the manufacturer of the modem, and also the model. Then mark the port to which the modem is connected. Click Finish. Go to the "Phones and Modems" item again, in the "Modems" tab, select the connected modem, select its properties.
Step 4
Select the port to which the modem was connected, then set the connection settings. In the Bits per seconds field, enter the value 9600, in the Data bits field - 8, in the Partity field, select the value None, in the Stop Bits field, select the value 1. Then click the “OK” button, type the AT command in the program, the modem should respond with the message “OK.
Step 5
Enter the pin code to connect the gsm modem to the computer, for this, type the following command in the program: AT + CPIN = "PIN code of the SIM card". Then wait for the modem to respond, this should happen within a few seconds ("OK" message). Then type the following command: AT + CLCK =”SC”, 0, “Pin-code” to disable the request for a pin-code for subsequent connections. The modem should respond with an "OK" message.
Step 6
Dial the command - ATS0 = 1 + IPR = 9600, the modem will answer "OK", this command is done to pick up the handset by the modem after the first call and use a fixed DTE rate of 9600 baud / second.
Step 7
Type the following command -: AT & W0 - 3, wait for the modem to answer, in this case it means saving the entered parameters in the modem's memory and loading them automatically when you turn it on again.
