Often there is a problem associated with the fact that a device cannot read text that can be easily opened by computer programs, despite the fact that it has the necessary function. This is usually due to encoding.

MS Office Word program

Instructions

Step 1

Download and install Microsoft Office Word software on your computer. If you need a one-time-use program, you do not have to purchase a license for it using the trial period. It is also a good option to use a free analogue - the Open Office program system, which has almost the same functions and works in a similar scenario.

Step 2

Install the downloaded program. Run it, using the "File" menu, select the text document you need, in which you are going to change the encoding. Please note that problems with reading text files can also lie in an unsupported format.

Step 3

Find out exactly which document extensions are relevant to your e-book, player or phone software. Here you just need to select the save directory - your removable device and, under the name, change the file extension to a supported one.

Step 4

If your problem is exactly the encoding, when opening the text, select Unicode and save the document to the removable disk in Windows encoding. In this case, the dialog box itself will appear when saving files, so that you can independently configure its attributes.

Step 5

If changing the encoding on windows did not help, try also opening the file using MS Office Word by changing the encoding to another one in the list. It is best to first read the information about the text document files supported by your device.

Step 6

Also make sure it has compatible software installed. If necessary, reinstall it or replace it with other updated or functional versions that support opening text documents.
