This article will teach you how to change the language of your computer. This will affect the text used in menus and windows. You can do this on both Windows and Mac computers. Changing your computer's default language will not change the language of your internet browser or other programs.

Step 1
Open the start menu. Click the Windows logo in the lower left corner of the screen.
You can also press the Windows key on your keyboard.

Click "Settings". This gear-shaped icon is in the lower-left side of the Start window.

Click "time and language". It's in the middle of the Preferences window.
Step 4
Click the Region & Language tab. You will find this at the far left of the window.

Click Add Language. It's next to the big + sign in the middle of the page under the heading "Languages".

Select the language you want to use on your computer.

Choose a dialect. Clicking on the language you want will take you to a page with different regional dialects, click on a dialect to select it.
This may not be available for your selected language.

Click on your secondary language. It should be below your current default language in the Languages section of the window. This will expand the language field.

Click Options. This button is displayed below the language. This opens the language settings window.

Download the language pack. Click Download below the "Download Language Pack" heading at the top left of the page.

Click Back. It's in the upper left corner of the screen.

Click the language again, then click Set as default. You will find this button below the language. Run will move the language to the top of the Languages section and set it as the default for all built-in menus, applications, and other display options.

Reboot your computer. Once the computer restarts and you are back in your account, your chosen language will be in place.
