You can restore the functionality of USB ports using standard Windows tools, without involving additional software. A prerequisite for the success of this operation is the availability of administrator access to computer resources.
Instructions
Step 1
Call the main system menu by clicking the "Start" button and go to the "Run" dialog. Type devmgmt.msc in the "Open" line and confirm launching the Device Manager utility by clicking OK. Select the computer name in the list of the dialog box that opens and select the "Update hardware configuration" command from the menu of possible actions.
Step 2
Reboot the system and check if the USB ports are working.
Step 3
Repeat the above steps to launch the Device Manager utility and open the "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" link in the dialog box that opens. Call the context menu of the first controller by clicking the right mouse button and select the "Delete" command. Remove all other controllers in sequence and reboot the system again. This action will automatically update the configuration and reinstall the remote controllers.
Step 4
Return to the main "Start" menu if it is impossible to restore the functionality of USB ports using the previous methods and again go to the "Run" dialog. Type regedit in the "Open" line and confirm the launch of the Registry Editor utility by clicking OK.
Step 5
Expand the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESystemCurrentControlSetServicesUSB branch and expand the Edit menu of the top service panel of the editor window. Specify the "New" command and select the "DWORD Value" sub-item. Call the context menu of the created parameter by clicking the right mouse button and specify the "Rename" command. Type DisableSelectiveSuspend on the Name line and confirm your selection by pressing the Enter softkey.
Step 6
