Step 1
Next, we will consider the process of a full computer scan using the example of the antivirus program ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4. You can download this software on the official ESET website. The free term of its use is one month.
Step 2
Run the program. In its main menu, select "PC scan", then from the list of suggested options - "Custom scan". In the next window such parameters should be checked. Set the scan profile to "Deep Scan". In the Scan Objects window, check the box next to absolutely all available objects, including RAM and virtual drives (if any in your system).
Step 3
If you just want to scan your computer without deleting the infected files, check the box next to the line "No cleaning" at the bottom of the window. If the checkbox is not cleared, then all detected malicious objects will be automatically deleted. You can also choose the level of maximum computer cleaning. To do this, click "Settings" at the bottom of the window, then in the window that appears, move the slider to the "Thorough cleaning" position and click OK.
Step 4
Now after completing all the settings, click "Scan". The computer scan process will begin. Its time depends on the power of the PC, on the capacity and fullness of your hard disk. In any case, the process will take a long time. Do not load the computer with other operations at this time.
Step 5
After the scan is complete, you can view the report. If you have checked the box next to the "No cleaning" line, and the program has detected viruses, you can view their list in the program window after the scan is complete. In the same window, you can delete infected objects or move them to quarantine. You can restore the file from quarantine at any time. If there is nothing you need among the infected files, then it is best to simply delete them.
