When registering in the ICQ instant messaging system, in most cases, you need to enter an email address, to which notifications will be received from the ICQ server in the future. In some cases, this is inconvenient, for example, when changing a mailbox or deleting an old one.

Step 1
Open your browser, enter www.icq.com/password in the address bar. You will see a window with several lines, fill them in by entering the mailbox address specified during registration in the messaging system and check digits for verification, respectively, and click next.
Step 2
If the message Error appears in the window that opens, check the correctness of the mailing address. If the inscription Password Assistance - Enter Code appeared, the activation of the security question went to the mailbox.
Step 3
Open your mailbox in a new browser tab. Open the letter received from the ICQ server, open the link to activate questions, click "Next" in the page that opens and wait for a new password to be received by mail.
Step 4
Refresh the page when you receive an email from the ICQ server with your new login information, open your messaging client and log into your account using the new password you received in the email. Enter your new email address in the information.
Step 5
Open a browser, enter www.icq.com/password in the address bar, enter your account number (UIN) and click "Next". Open the link that says If these are not your questions & answers, click here. Enter a new mailing address, or best of all, copy it from the mailbox to avoid mistakes.
Step 6
Open the new mailbox to which you are going to link your account, find the letter with the address confirmation link, open it and complete the process of re-registering the mailbox linked to the ICQ number.
Step 7
Restart your instant messaging client, check your account settings, and see if the mailbox was changed correctly. Pay special attention to entering your email address as you may lose your ICQ number.
