There are several proven ways to install multiple operating systems on one computer. You can perform this operation even if you have only one hard disk at your disposal.
Necessary
- - Partition Manager;
- - Windows installation disc.
Instructions
Step 1
When you need to install two identical operating systems - in this case, Windows XP - start the familiar installation of the first system. Specify the hard disk partition where the Windows files should be placed.
Step 2
After completing the installation of the first operating system, install the Partition Manager program. It will be required to create additional partitions (if there are none), because the Windows XP installer does not allow manipulating partitions.
Step 3
Run the program. Open the "Wizards" menu and go to the "Create Section" item. Turn on Power User Mode and click Next.
Step 4
Select the hard disk partition that you want to split into several parts and click the "Next" button. Set the size of the future volume. Activate the item "Create logical disk". Click "Next".
Step 5
Select the file system type for the future partition. Click the Next and Finish buttons. Under the toolbar, find the virtual operations menu. Click the Apply Pending Changes button.
Step 6
After creating a new partition, restart your computer. Start the process of installing a new operating system. Select one of the newly created sections. Naturally, do not select a partition with an already installed OS.
Step 7
After installing the second operating system Windows XP, unfortunately, at startup, the window for selecting the bootable system will not appear. Log into the new OS.
Step 8
Open the control panel. Go to the "System" menu. Open the System Properties menu. Select the "Advanced" tab. Find the "Startup and Recovery" item and click the "Options" button.
Step 9
Activate the item "Display a list of operating systems at boot". Set the operating time of the system selection window. Save your changes. Restart your computer to enter another OS.
