Working with the monitor at close range is harmful to the eyes, especially if you want to read some literature and this is a long process. But fonts in browsers are often small and difficult to read from a distance. There is a simple solution to eliminate these inconveniences - increase the font size while viewing.

Instructions

Step 1

Open your browser. It could be Internet Explorer, a built-in program from Microsoft. You may be using one of the competing alternative browsers. Most often it is Google Chrome from the creators of a well-known search engine, the Norwegian software Opera, or Mozilla Firefox, a popular browser from the open source software community. The steps in each of these programs that need to be done to increase the font are slightly different.

Step 2

In Internet Explorer, open the View menu located in the top bar below the page title. If you do not have a standard menu line, press the Alt key on your keyboard. Select the "Font size" line, and then one of five options: from smallest to largest. Refresh the page and see the changes in the text. Another way - in the "View" menu, select the "Scale" line, hold the mouse pointer on it and click the one of the page scale options that suits you best.

Step 3

In Google Chrome, click the wrench button, that is, "Settings". From the menu that opens, select "Options". On the left side of the page, click the third line from the top, labeled "Advanced". On the right in the "Web Content" section, select the desired font size from the drop-down list: from very small to very large. There you can also select the scale of displaying sites. When you're done setting up, just close this page - your changes will be saved automatically.

Step 4

If you are using Opera to browse the Internet, find the slider at the bottom right of the screen. Move it to the right to make all the elements of the site larger.

Step 5

Click the View button on the top menu bar if you are using the Mozilla Firefox browser. Select the line "Scale" and click on the inscription "Text only". Then select the line "Enlarge" in the same scaling menu. If you do not check the box to enlarge or shrink just for text, then images and controls on the page will also be resized.

Step 6

Hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard and scroll the mouse wheel up or down in any of the browsers. Moving up will increase the font and scale of the page. To reduce the font and all elements on the page, scroll the mouse wheel down.
