Often, users set a password to enter the operating system to protect their personal data from strangers. However, over time, entering a password becomes a burdensome procedure, or the need for its further use simply disappears. In this case, the password entry function is disabled in the system settings.
Instructions
Step 1
Turn on your computer. Log into the operating system with an account with administrator rights. To determine which account it is, look at its attributes on the boot screen, at the bottom it should say "Computer Administrator".
Step 2
Open the start menu. Find Run and type netplwiz on a blank line. It is also relevant for Seven, but not suitable for use on earlier versions of Windows operating systems.
Step 3
Hit Enter. You will see a small window for operating system accounts settings. There may be not only the computer users you created, but also those that are necessary to support the operation of some programs, for example, for the full functioning of the NET Framework.
Step 4
Using the left mouse button, select the system user whom you want to program to automatically log in without entering a password. Uncheck the box next to Require username and password. Apply the change.
Step 5
In the new window that appears, enter the password that you previously used to log in under your account. Confirm it on the line below. Be careful, make sure that you have disabled Caps lock and you enter the password in the same layout as usual.
Step 6
Click the "Ok" button. The next time you log on to Windows Vista, the password prompt will be disabled. And the system will boot automatically on behalf of the computer administrator.
Step 7
If in the future you want to re-enter the password at system startup, make all the changes in reverse order and make the appropriate settings in the user accounts menu, which is located in the computer control panel.
