A bot (or a robot) is a program that performs any action on a computer without the help of humans. Now there are quite a few such programs: in games, in answering machines, but very often they use bots on the Internet. But how can one distinguish it from a human?

Most often on the Internet, bots are used to harm a person. They spread viruses and spam, upload unnecessary information to websites, steal data and passwords, etc. However, if you follow some safety rules, you can protect your computer from bad consequences.

Vkontakte very often messages containing advertisements or spam are sent from unknown people. These people turn out to be hacked bots, and then other programs also send messages from them. Messages of this type never contain useful information, but only any links to malicious sites, after which a large number of various viruses appear on the computer. Some of these viruses are often very difficult to get rid of. Therefore, you should not click on unknown links.

However, distinguishing bots from humans is pretty easy. Because programs are usually sent in bulk, then the messages may contain your name (and exactly the one that you have written). Sometimes a large number of different characters are written instead of a name. If users are sent one identical message, then this page will simply be blocked. And so it is likely that with a change in some words, the message will be transmitted to as many people as possible, and someone will definitely get caught and follow the link. Therefore, be careful. Ordinary people will never throw off a link to an incomprehensible site.

There are bots that buy concert tickets and then resell them for a higher price. And it also happens that several people buy one ticket. To avoid this, buy tickets only in trusted places: sites that have official confirmation or the opportunity to buy a ticket there was talked about on TV, radio, etc., as well as at the box office.

These are not all types of bots that exist. Therefore, be careful about all suspicious information. Remember that bots are human-made programs that do the same thing. When it comes to purchases, then make them on well-known sites, but not through a third party.
