Updating the software signatures of any antivirus program is a vital process. NOD32 antivirus is no exception. It is an effective tool for fighting computer viruses, but without updating the signatures, the program's protection is weakened, as the number of various viruses is growing every day.
Necessary
- - computer
- - NOD32 antivirus
- - USB flash drive with update package
- - Internet access
- - update server address
- - entry-level computer user skills.
Instructions
Step 1
If the Internet is connected and the NOD32 program is available, the signature databases are updated automatically (due to the connection to the update server). If there is no Internet connection, the signature databases can be updated manually. To do this, enter the program menu by double-clicking the left mouse button on the program icon (it is located on the toolbar near the clock). Or go to the program through the "Start" menu by clicking on the "Programs" line, then enter the NOD32 program and into the NOD32 menu.
Step 2
In the window that appears on the left, enter the "Settings" menu. In this case, the view of the menu should be in extended mode. In the open settings window, click on the line "Entering the entire tree of advanced parameters". A new dialog box will open.
Step 3
In the list on the left, find the line "Update" and click on it with the left mouse button. In the line "Update server" click the "Change" button and add the address of the update server. If the update package is on a USB flash drive, then copy it to your computer and in this line write the path to this folder, click the "Add" button. By clicking the "OK" button, you activate the update server.
Step 4
Left-click on the line "Update virus signature database". The signature databases will be updated. When the update is complete, a message appears that the virus signature database has been successfully updated.
