A drop-down list of links in the address bar of the browser displays part of the content of the browsing history automatically saved by the program. When you delete a line from this list, its place is taken by the chronologically next link, therefore, to completely clear it, you must delete the entire history of visits. This feature is available in all modern browsers.
Instructions
Step 1
To clear the list of links in the address bar of the Opera browser, open the "Settings" section in its menu and launch the dialog box for clearing the browsing history by selecting the "Delete personal data" item. Expand this window completely by clicking on the "Detailed settings" link - the hidden part contains detailed settings for the upcoming operation. Carefully read the default checkboxes so as not to delete any important data (for example, passwords), and most importantly - make sure there is a checkmark in the "Clear browsing history" field. Start the procedure by clicking on the "OK" button.
Step 2
To remove all links from the list in Mozilla FireFox, open the settings window by clicking on the "Settings" line in the "Tools" section of the browser menu. On the "Privacy" tab of this window, there is a button labeled "Clear now" - click it. The button opens the "Delete personal data" window, where you need to put a check mark next to the "Visit log" inscription. Then start the process by clicking the "Delete now" button.
Step 3
To delete the list of links in Internet Explorer, select the "Delete Browsing History" command located in the "Tools" section of the Internet Explorer menu. In the settings window, click on the "Delete history" button in the "Log" section, and then confirm your choice by clicking on the "Yes" button in the dialog box that appears.
Step 4
To delete a drop-down list with links in the Google Chrome browser, start by pressing the ctrl + shift + del hotkeys or selecting the "Delete viewed documents" command in the "Tools" section of the menu. Specify the depth of history to which you want to clear the list of address records, check the box "Clear browsing history" and click on the button "Clear browsing data".
Step 5
To delete data in the drop-down list of addresses of the Apple Safari browser, open the "History" section in the menu and select the "Clear history" command. The browser will ask for confirmation - click on the "Clear" button.
